Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Federal Skilled Worker Program seeks to capture skilled workers with valuable experience or knowledge and fill the gaps in high-demand occupations. If you want to qualify, you must meet some prerequisites related to your education, work experience, knowledge of language, age and different adaptation factors. Applicants would have to go through a comprehensive points system and their scores would be calculated by considering their education level, work experience, language skills, and job offers.

Eligible Criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) applicant must:


  • Meet 67 points out of 100 points grid.
  • Have at least 1-year full-time work experience in Nominated Occupation (NOC O A B)
  • Achieve a minimum level of CLB 7 in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
  • The minimum qualification required is a Diploma or Bachelors’s Degree, depending upon the requirement of Occupation as per NOC – National Occupation Classification.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP):

The Federal Skilled Trades Stream is directed toward tradesmen who possess the right sort of competency and experience that is needed to ensure smooth running of the labor market in some of the key sectors. This program is for people who know the professional trades such as electrical and welding, building and plumbing. To qualify, candidates must meet eligibility requirements related to work experience, language proficiency, and job offers or certification from a provincial or territorial authority. The FSTP aims to address shortages in skilled trades occupations and assist the growth of key sectors in the Canadian economic system.

Eligible Criteria for the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): applicant must:


  • Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience or equivalent part-time work experience
  • Have an offer of full-time employment for at least 1 year
  • Plan on living outside the Quebec province
  • Achieve a minimum level of CLB 5 for listening and speaking and CLB 4 for reading and writing
  • There are no minimum educational qualifications required to migrate to Canada through this program.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Atlantic Immigration Program(AIP)

The AIP programme is a partnership between the Canadian government and the 4 Atlantic provinces:

  • New Brunswick
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia

This programme lets employers hire people that they haven’t been able to find locally. The employee can be living abroad or in Canada temporarily. The employees need to have a job offer before applying.

Quebec-Selected Skilled Worker Program

This province has its own immigration rules. There are two stages to this program that could be checked and fulfilled by Canada Immigration Consultants in Dubai.

  • Stage 1 : Apply for the government of Quebec for a certificate of selection showing that you have been accepted as an immigrant.
  • Stage 2 : After receiving Quebec Selection Certificate, apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.
